Day three in the park saw greater focusing in on some yet unexplored regions of our itinerary, which seemed to stand in contrast to others' experiences, as some groups had already traveresed their entire itinerary. I was excited to travel to the furthest reaches of the park in search of the view from the Observatorium onto what would have been the Racetrack. If we had had a few weeks, perhaps we could have charted what was left of the Arboretum, but there were few large trees, leading me to believe that few specimens still persisted from Puckler's time. The Observatorium did lend a nice view onto what is now grain fields, though the 20 foot Common Oak in the center of the field predated Puckler and certainly grounds views and locations back to his time. The massive oak is the tree right of center, standing solitary.
